TRAIN YOUR BODY…

BREATH, AND MIND!

At Inner Journey. Yoga, we offer a sports-specific program inspired by the Iyengar school of yoga. Our yoga programs are tailor-made for athletes, based on their sports.

Our yoga program is designed to integrate into any student-athlete’s conditioning program. Since it’s tailor-made to the needs of the student-athlete and their sport, it enhances their sporting performance.

We focus on the structural alignment of the physical body through the practice of Asanas. Our sessions aim to improve form and functionality through the use of props, longer holds, and programmatic breathing so that students can take the journey inward and become more aware of themselves.

Our yoga program adjuncts a student-athlete’s training schedule, to not only amplify their performance as a player, but also contributes to their overall wellbeing as a human being.

Yoga is both an art and science. As a science, it provides an understanding of the functioning of the body and mind, while as an art, it helps express a person’s sense of intuition and creativity.

Yoga is both an art and science. As a science, it provides an understanding of the functioning of the body and mind, while as an art, it helps express a person’s sense of intuition and creativity.

Yoga has the unique ability to evenly distribute pressure and power by balancing the body and the mind. It teaches us how to correctly align the left and the right frontiers of the body, arms, legs and torso, muscles, tissues, joints, ligaments, fibres and cartilages, thus preventing physical disharmony and chances of injury.

Yoga guides us to balance our life’s physical, moral, mental, emotional and intellectual planes. It helps us maintain our inner equilibrium irrespective of the external circumstances.

Yoga builds the mental courage to withstand failure, clarity to identify its cause and solutions, and helps retune the body and mind to overcome shortcomings.

Sportspersons who vouch for Yoga

Sachin Tendulkar

“His [B.K.S. Iyengar’s] serene, light-hearted approach struck me and I spent a week under Guruji’s care. I will always be grateful for the wonderful asanas he taught me. Practicing those asanas helped me a lot throughout my career. Over a decade later, I was faced with a peculiar problem in my foot, causing immense pain and discomfort. I was advised surgery for the same which I was not too sure of. At that time, Zak [Zaheer Khan] suggested that I seek Guruji’s advice. His positive spirit and guidance helped me recover to an extent that I did not need surgery.”

Novak Djokovic

“I do (meditation and yoga) out of a need to have an optimal state of mind and peace and calm, and at the same time happiness and joy.”

Lebron James

“Yoga isn’t just about the body, it’s also about the mind and it’s a technique that has really helped me.”

Kara Lang
